CENTRE FOR CHILD WELFARE & SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT (CCWSD) is a non-government,
non-profit organisation established in 1998. CCWSD works for the development
of deprived and marginalised people in the remotest areas of Orissa, one of the
most backward states in India.
CCWSD's approach focuses on Primary Education, Sustainable Livelihood and Participatory
Governance. However, it also addresses issues such as disaster management, health
and sanitation, child rights, HIV/AIDS prevention and drug addiction rehabilitation.
We are distinguished by our pioneering services for the cause of health, education
and environment in the State of Orissan. Our Board of Management have necessary
expertise in project formulation, monitoring and evaluation.
CCWSD visualizes itself as a People’s Initiative for addressing various issues without discriminating
on the basis of caste, colour, creed, gender, religion or region and ensuring Justice, peace, equality
and fraternity. Some of our major activities are listed below:-
Ensuring Access and Quality education to all children through regular schools, non formal education and
alternative education systems.
Child Rights and Child Protection through networking and advocacy.
Working aginst gender discrimination.
Health education and health campaigns,Supporting initiatives for People with Disability.
Improve the health status of children and women.
Research on environmental impact assessment on community.
We Believe
CCWSD firmly believes that participation leads to empowerment. This is realized by
making children participate in the organization’s programs as an inherent component giving them
opportunity to get involved in conceiving, designing and implementing the various programmes
and activities. It has been empanelled by various Departments of state Government of Odisha and
Government of India and corporate body to undertake research and evaluation studies under their
support and sponsorship.
The Organization also believes that the development of women and children can be possible
by giving them opportunities, spaces to put their voice and experiences and accordingly the
organization has been showing its interest towards this aspect.
